The EPIGEN Consortium held their yearly symposia at Chartridge Abbey, England. The symposia, attended by 25 researchers from the US, Ireland, the UK and Belgium, covered developments in the field of epilepsy genetics and set goals for the coming 12 months of EPIGEN-related research.

April 2008

Dr. Gianpiero Cavalleri, in collaboration with EPIGEN, is awarded funding from Science Foundation Ireland to explore the potential of magnetic resonance imaging to empower genetic mapping in epilepsy.


March 2008

The EPIGEN Consortium, in partnership with EPICURE, GenEpA and SANAD, are awarded major funding as part of Phase II of the Wellcome Trust Case Control initiative. This funding will support a detailed assessment of the role of common genetic variation in the development of focal (localisation-related) epilepsy.
